Katy & Bryce’s whimsical backyard garden party wedding.

When Katy first reached out to me back in January to shoot her backyard garden party wedding, I already knew it was going to be stunning based off the initial vision she had. The bride’s step-dad was kind enough to open up his beautiful home and convert it into a wedding venue for the day. The backyard was completely transformed with the presence of a clear tent, dance floor, banquet tables, and the most whimsical blooms from Scattered Seed Florals. I could tell that every detail was chosen with such care.

There was no shortage of spaces around the house to take portraits for the couple, wedding party, and family. We started off the day with a quiet first look on the side of the house. It was the sweetest moment seeing Bryce react to seeing Katy for the first time on the big day. We then utilized the pool room and the staircase for additional couple portraits and wedding party photos. All of the wedding party members were actually all part of the same friend group! This made it extra fun to take photos of them just hanging out and vibing.

The bridesmaids chose their own dresses, which ended up fitting together so perfectly for the summery, lively color palette. Ultimately, the flowers tied the look together through its lush green accents and pops of pastel color. The coolest part about the reception was having wood-fired pizza from Elemental for dinner!
