Nick & Jade’s engagement session at the Roozengaarde Tulip Field.
It’s April, which means it’s officially tulip season here in Washington state! Roozengaarde is one of many tulip fields up in Mount Vernon. It is only about an hour drive north from Seattle, so it is a must visit during the month of April. Another popular nearby option is the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival. I had only gone to the tulip festival once when I was like five years old, so I was super excited to have an opportunity to come back after all these years. We arrived on a Friday morning on the most beautiful sunny day. I would definitely recommend getting here early as the lines got really long once afternoon hit – even better if you can come on a weekday.
Once we entered the fields, we headed to the gift shop to purchase tulips to hold for the photos. I would highly recommend buying a bunch as a prop for photos! You can also take them home for after your session. We then spent our session walking around to all the different fields of tulips and daffodils. I had never seen so many in one place before! The view of the mountains in the background made the photos even more stunning.
After the session, I stayed a while longer to admire the bountiful tulip fields and take some extra photos for myself. If you’d like photos like these at the Roozengaarde Tulip Field, don’t hesitate to inquire with me!
